AHCS Sponsors Autism Training
On May 26th, Dr. Jill Hamlin provided training on Autism at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College. Dr. Hamlin is an experienced occupational therapist and has worked in an array of settings, providing numerous local and state trainings addressing topics such as behavior modification, sensory integration, benefits of proper inclusion, and the importance of parental involvement. Dr. Hamlin is also Director of Autism Studies and an adjunct professor for Averett University, teaching education and psychology courses. In her private practice, she works with clients and their families as a system to promote optimum functional independence. Dr. Hamlin is the state liaison of the Arc of Southside Virginia, Chair-Elect of the Virginia Autism Council, and a member of the Board of CrossRoads Reconciliation Center.
