May – Early Intervention Month

Hazel E. Lawler Children’s Center Infant Toddler Program staff promoted May as Early Intervention month by holding a meet and greet at both area libraries.  Flyers went home with k-3rd graders in all area schools and posters were put up around the community to help promote this activity and early intervention.  Additionally, an article was published in the Virginian Review, and a proclamation was signed at Covington City Hall in recognition of Early Intervention month.

Part C early intervention services are available to eligible infants and toddlers who have 25% or greater delay in any area of development, display atypical development or have a diagnosed condition that has a high probability of resulting in a developmental delay.  Part C early intervention builds upon and provides supports and resources to assist family members and caregivers to enhance children’s learning and development through everyday learning opportunities.
