Prevention services play a crucial role in promoting well-being by addressing potential issues before they develop into more serious problems.

TRAININGS OFFERED

  • Adult Mental Health First Aid—is a course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid—is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addiction challenge or is in crisis.
  • safeTALK—equips people to be more alert to someone thinking of suicide and better able to connect them with further help. SafeTALK empowers everyone to make a difference.
  • ACE Interface—for people who are committed to do everything necessary to accelerate the intergenerational changes that will improve health and quality of life.
  • REVIVE—REVIVE! is the Opioid Overdose and Naloxone Education (OONE) program for the Commonwealth of Virginia. REVIVE! provides training on how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose emergency using naloxone.
