PERSONALIZED, POSITIVE SUPPORT

“Curb to Curb” transportation is provided to and from appointments at all AHCS Facilities and Health Care Offices within Alleghany County.

Who is eligible?

All active AHCS clients within the City of Covington, Alleghany County and Iron Gate are eligible for this transportation opportunity for medically necessary appointments.

What is the cost?

For non-insured clients, there is a $3.00 roundtrip charge. Cash only; exact change is required.

Hours of operation:

Transportation will be provided to and from appointment Mon-Fri, 10:00am and 2:00pm

Will others be on the bus at the same time?

Occasionally others may be on the bus at the same time. In an effort to serve the greatest number of people in an efficient manner, drivers will consolidate when more than one person is requesting to go to the same location.

Please be ready at least 15 minutes before your
pick-up time.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?

Make your doctor’s appointment.
Call 540-863–1620 ext. 110 Mon-Fri 8:30am - 4:30pm to make your transportation reservation
All transportation reservations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the appointment
Reservations are first come, first served depending on space availability

When calling to make a reservation, please have the following information available:

Name
Date of Birth
Medicaid Number, if applicable
Who the appointment is with
Time of appointment
Pick-up and drop-off addresses

Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Should you need to cancel, please call at least two hours in advance.

If your transportation is more than 15 minutes late picking you up, please call 540-863-1620 ext. 110.

If the agency is closed, transportation will not be provided.
